SHAPE provides many interesting and exciting opportunities for military as well as civilian personnel to work in its permanent bases in several member nations, military missions and operations in Iraq and the Balkans. All the posts require personnel with a wide range of skills.

Military personnel are posted on Peacetime Establishment posts for a period generally not exceeding 3 years, whereas any deployment into the theatres (NMI and the Balkans) normally lasts up to 12 months.

Civilians may be hired as International Staff or employed as Local Wage Rate (LWS) or Local Wage Scale (LWS).
