Frank Schiller

Allied Command Transformation

Before joining NATO Headquarters Supreme Allied Command Transformation (HQ SACT) in Norfolk, VA, USA, Mr. Frank Schiller served at NATO HQ in Brussels, Belgium within the International Staff/ NATO TV in the Public Diplomacy Division (PDD). He began his NATO career in 2006 with the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Combined Joint Psychological Operations Task Force (CJPOTF) in Afghanistan. As Deputy TV Chief and TV Producer, he engaged with the local population through mass media to inform and influence specific target audiences in support of the NATO mission. His tenure as an International Civilian Consultant in Afghanistan concluded in 2008.

A journalist by profession, Frank commenced his career in 1997 as a local TV reporter, eventually becoming the editor-in-chief of a regional East-German TV station. In late 1999, he relocated to Bonn, Germany, where he joined Deutsche Post/DHL as a communication specialist. In his roles as Project Manager and later Deputy Head of the editorial office, he managed all facets of external and internal corporate communications for the global logistics group in a multicultural setting.

Mr. Schiller holds a “Diplom-Journalist” degree from the University of Leipzig, Germany/ Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK, USA (1997) and a “Master of Arts” in European Studies from the Centre for European Integration Studies at Bonn University, Germany (2009).

In October 2015, Frank Schiller was honoured with the NATO Meritorious Service Medal, an international decoration awarded by NATO, for his exceptional efforts in transforming NATO ACT’s internal communication culture to enhance situational awareness, responsiveness, and innovation.
