ACT Director of the Joint Effects Programme

Colonel Chris "Buck" Weaton

Colonel Chris “Buck” Weaton is the Director of the Joint Effects Programme, Supreme Allied Command Transformation (NATO SACT), Norfolk, Virginia. He is responsible for developing capability requirements across a functional spectrum which includes space, electronic warfare, strategic communications, force protection, counter-threat, joint targeting, joint fires, joint personnel recovery, and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense. Additionally, he serves as the Commander, Air Force Element and Senior Service Representative within NATO SACT.

Colonel Weaton earned his commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 2000 and led as an Instructor Pilot in both the EC-130H and B-1B aircraft. He previously served in two joint assignments as a Political-Military and Airpower Strategist in the Joint Chiefs of Staff J-5 and J-3, and was honored to command the 43d Electronic Combat Squadron. Colonel Weaton is a command pilot with 3,143 total flight hours and 1,491 combat flight hours over 7 deployments in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, and YUKON SCEPTRE in both the EC-130H and B-1B weapon systems.

He is married to his wife, Amy, and has six children, Isaiah, Elijah, Naomi, Elizabeth, Acacia, and Teresa.
