The Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF), led by the Turkish 66th Mechanized Infantry Brigade is comprised of six military convoys traveling to the Joint National Training Centre in Cincu. The open road transit of NATO’s spearhead force to Romania, through Bulgaria, started Wednesday. For the next two weeks, the VJTF will conduct a variety of training including combined arms, live fire events.
The Turkish, Romanian, and Bulgarian governments carefully coordinated the movements to ensure proper passage of the VJTF through nations whilst considering proper COVID-19 preventative measures. The Headquarters Multinational Division South-East in Bucharest facilitates the deployment of the land component of the VJTF by supporting the reception, staging and onward movement of the force.
