STEADFAST DART, Romania - The Serval, an integral component of the French Army's fleet under the SCORPION program, showcases its tactical versatility and adaptability essential for modern warfare. French soldier Zac, from the 3rd Parachute Regiment, highlights the operational flexibility of the Serval, noting, "it's designed to be agile and fast in deployment scenarios".

This vehicle is expected to bolster the French Army's capabilities significantly, with plans to deploy "978 Servals by 2035" under the SCORPION program, highlighting its pivotal role in military modernization the Serval is tailored to meet diverse operational needs, coming in various configurations to support infantry, command posts, and specialized roles like mortar carriers and air defense.
Zac further emphasizes its strategic importance, stating, "inside the vehicle, we have all the controls for managing terrain adaptations, like deflating tires for sand or re-inflating them for road use, which happens very quickly", showcasing its readiness for varied battlefield conditions.
The design of the Serval prioritizes
mobility and protection, capable of speeds up to 90 km/h, and is equipped with
modular armor and a remote-controlled weapon station to enhance crew safety and
operational effectiveness. As Zac illustrates, "we have everything from
GPS systems, remote weapon stations, to advanced communications setups inside,
which are crucial for keeping us ahead in the field".
