MONS, Belgium – British Troops have been busy sharpening their warfare skills and are now preparing to head to eastern Europe to participate in NATO exercise Steadfast Dart 2025 to be held in Bulgaria, Greece and Romania.
The United Kingdom is providing the largest contribution of forces to the exercise with over 2,600 personnel and 730 vehicles deploying to NATO’s eastern flank for the Alliance’s principal exercise of the year. Steadfast Dart is also the first large-scale deployment exercise for NATO’s Allied Reaction Force (ARF).

Sixty members of B Company, 4th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland (4 SCOTS), recently took part in live fire and tactical training at Warcop Ranges in Cumbria.
The training consisted of a battalion live fire range package, covering the Annual Combat Marksmanship Test, night and daytime attacks, culminating in a challenging company attack using night vision optics.
Meanwhile, the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, recently practiced urban combat skills needed as part of the ARF.
The British will join forces with military personnel from eight other Allied nations, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Romania, Spain, Slovenia and Türkiye. In total, 10,000 air, land, maritime and special operations forces will participate.
