JSEC: Experts Coordinating NATO Movements

GALATI, Romania- Since the beginning of January, around 10,000 NATO troops have been moving towards the eastern flank. Their goal: Exercise STEADFAST DART 2025. Their deployment is complex but important. The Allied Reaction Forces (ARF) have been activated for an exercise. They must defend NATO territory – neither more, nor less.

The pre-conditions for their arrival are set in Ulm, Germany. The Joint Support and Enabling Command (JSEC) plays a crucial role in ensuring that NATO troops are in the right place at the right time. Before the first troop movements begin, national deployment plans are consolidated into a multinational deployment plan in the JSEC. This guarantees leadership from a single source, coordination of multiple transportation and enables the nations to move to the location needed without delay.

The success of our rapid troop deployment is based on our strong cohesion of all participating Allies and our unalterable will and capability to jointly defend every inch of NATO territory.

“The success of our rapid troop deployment is based on our strong cohesion of all participating Allies and our unalterable will and capability to jointly defend every inch of NATO territory”, said Lieutenant General Lorenzo D'Addario, Commander NRDC-ITA, leading the ARF during the exercise.

Steadfast Dart 2025 has already demonstrated NATO´s ability to activate the ARF, coordinated the swift transit to where it can deliver strategic deterrence effects by bolstering forces already situated in location.

The fast deployment of the ARF has been a testament to the unwavering commitment of Allies to the protection of Europe, demonstrating our ability to defend the Alliance.
