SZCZECIN, Poland - Poland’s 1st Tank Battalion is participating in exercise Brilliant Jump 2024, part of NATO’s exercise Steadfast Defender series of exercises, underway in the Drawsko Pomorskie Training area in northern Poland.
200 military personnel and 50 vehicles, including Leopard 2A5 main battle tanks, will partake in high intensity manoeuvres in harsh wooded and swampy conditions. By employing these heavy armoured units in high tempo land tactical activities, soldiers will execute rapid and decisive manoeuvrability while providing dominant firepower and protection.

“For me, participating in exercises with NATO allies is not only a military matter, but also about building strong partnership ties and solidarity between nations. Following exercise Brilliant Jump, tanks M1A1 Abrams from the 1st Tank Battalion will travel east for Polish-led exercise Dragon 24 where they will lead a multinational exercise to train land, air and maritime assets. It will demonstrate Poland's ability to respond to various threats, both military and non-military, during times of conflict and crisis.
The 1st Tank Battalion is part of the 1st Warsaw Armoured Brigade based in Wesola.
