Meet Soldier Artemis Tupi with the Albanian Armed Forces. We asked him questions about who he is, his military career and what he will be doing during exercise Brilliant Jump 2024.
1. Where are you from?
I am from Kruja, in north central Albania, a small seaport town that use to be the capital of the country many years ago. It is known for being the home of Albanian hero and military commander Skanderbeg, who led a rebellion against the Ottoman Empire in the 1400’s.
2. How long have you been in the military? Why did you join?
I have been in the military for 6 years. I joined the military because I love my job. I love my country. I fight for my country.
3. What is your job in the military?
I am a soldier in the 2nd Coy, called Cobra Coy and have been in this Coy for 6 years.
4. What do you love about your job?
The most important thing about my job is that it gives me the opportunity to fight for my country. This is the most important thing.
5. Have you deployed before?
Yes. I have been to Kosovo where I deployed for 6 months. I have also been on many NATO exercises including Brilliant Jump 24 now in Poland. Before, I participated in exercise Defender 21, 23 and 24.
6. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to train for the military. I also like kick boxing and have been participating in the sport for 6 years now.
7. What is the best thing about this exercise?
Getting to know many people from all countries within NATO.
