NATO Brass Ambassadors

The NATO Brass Ambassadors is a 5-6 piece small ceremonial brass ensemble typically utilized for a variety of indoor and outdoor ceremonies where performance space or volume might not allow use of the full ceremonial band. Performing both contemporary brass quintet, classical "pops" arrangements, as well as typical military ceremonial repertoire such as marches, anthems, fanfares, and service songs, this ensemble is one of the SHAPE International Band's most versatile and in demand groups. The group has a unique flexible instrumentation allowing for the following variations depending on the venue and available personnel: two trumpets + three trombones--two trumpets + flugelhorn + two trombones--two trumpets + french horn + two trombones. Additionally, a percussionist can be added to the normal five member ensemble in certain ceremonial instances where batterie percussion is required.  Examples of recent performances by this ensemble include:

  • outdoor performance at the United States Army AFNORTH Battalion Change of Command at SHAPE
  • indoor performance for the 244th United States Army Ball for Soldiers and civilians from JFC Brunssum, The Netherlands
  • outdoor concert at The Citadel in Lille, France
  • indoor performance for the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) Holiday Reception in Mons, Belgium
  • masterclass with music students from the SHAPE International School and SHAPE American School in Casteau, Belgium
