Master Sergeant Thomas Salyers


Master Sergeant Thomas Salyers comes to us from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. He studied Classical Trumpet Performance at Carnegie Mellon and Duquesne Universities. He enlisted in 2002 and has served with the Air Force Bands at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia; Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska; Yokota Air Base, Japan; and Travis Air Base, California. Master Sergeant Salyers has performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Pops, Brass, and New Music Ensemble. He has also performed with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Anchorage Symphony, John Santos, Dayna Stevens, Jason Marsalis, Tom Coster, Amy Grant, Aaron Neville, Lee Greenwood, Take Six, CeCe Winans, and Restless Heart. He has also been a featured performer on National Public Radio's "Performance Today". At the SHAPE International Band, Master Sergeant Salyers serves as a lead trumpet player in the NATO Jazz Orchestra and Task Force X, as well as leading the NATO Brass Ambassadors.
