Sergeant First Class Michael Agee comes to us from Englewood, Ohio, USA. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in Saxophone Performance with an Emphasis in Jazz Studies from University of Alabama-Huntsville in 2013. In September 2001, Sergeant First Class Agee enlisted in the U.S. Army and has served at Fort Hood, Texas, USA, serving 2 back to back tours to Iraq in support of Operation Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom; Fort Knox, Kentucky, USA; Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, USA; Camp Zama, Japan; and Fort Stewart, Georgia, USA. He has shared the stage with prominent musical artists such as Stanley Turrentine, Don Braden, Greg Abate, Tom Bones Malone, Bill Watrous, Montgomery Gentry, Brooks & Dunn, Craig Morgan, Justin Moore, and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. He founded The Super Awesome Big Band and helped lead The Funky Pirates Jazz Band with artists of Huntsville. He also worked with Huntsville recording companies, collaborating with local bands to include: playing and recording for MTV's aspiring young rap stars, The Huntsville Symphony and many local theatre companies. Other accolades include: The Distinguished Honor Graduate of SLC in 2014, receiving the Benjamin Harris Medal for outstanding performance in leadership, academics and physical fitness, and Army Music Performance Team of the Year 2015 & 2016. Sergeant First Class Agee serves in the SHAPE International Band as our NCOIC of the NATO Jazz Orchestra, lead alto saxophonist for the NATO Jazz Orchestra, and saxophonist for the NATO Unplugged acoustic ensemble.
