SACEUR Remarks during the Republic of North Macedonia Ascension Ceremony

On behalf of a grateful SHAPE and grateful NATO, it is our distinct privilege to be here today to recognize the ascension of the Republic of North Macedonia officially as the thirtieth nation to be part of this great Alliance.

Commencing since 24 March 2020 Lieutenant Colonel Panche Stefanovski is officially the NMR [National Military Representative] to SHAPE, and Panche on behalf of a grateful SHAPE and a grateful NATO we wish you and your nation congratulations.

This marks a tremendous step forward for generating peace. We’ve all seen the stability that the Republic of North Macedonia creates and delivers in the Western Balkans, the Balkans, the region and Europe, throughout the Euro-Atlantic. With this ascension we now possess the great opportunity to generate more peace. Thank you.
