Military Strategic Partnership Conference 2023 now looking ahead to 2024

MONS, Belgium – SHAPE’s Partnership Directorate concluded their annual conference in Doha, Qatar on Friday, Mar. 17, 2023 with detailed objectives from the host nation and the numerous partner nations in attendance.

During the conference, partner nations met with their respective Partnership Directorate Military Cooperation Country Desk Officers and other stakeholders. These meetings resulted in ideas to be taken forward and briefed to leadership in the second quarter of this year.

This conference, hosted by the State of Qatar, was the largest to date with nearly 300 participants from within the Alliance and all partner nations. Briefings and presentations were extensive and allowed subject matter experts to discuss their areas of expertise in great detail. Attendees also took advantage of the numerous exhibitions present.

“As Project Leader I would like to extend a huge thank you to the Qatari Ministries and Armed Forces who have helped us make this a very successful Partnership Conference. The facilities and cooperation throughout was excellent and the NATO Core team ensured that all aspects of the conference were smooth and efficient,” said Lieutenant Colonel Darcy Wright, Partnership Directorate. “The choice of briefings ensured that a great deal of partnership business could be completed in location, but also spearheaded many initiatives that will now allow us all to reinforce the success of last week.”

The Military Strategic Partnership Conference (MSPC) is an annual event held hosted by a NATO Partner Nation. Although other partnership events are held at Joint Force Command and Single Service Command level, the annual MSPC provides the one global venue to inform and educate the partnership community on all items of interest and host the partner bi-lateral events during the week.
