UK Ministry of Defence announces new Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe

MONS, Belgium - On Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, the UK Ministry of Defence announced the appointment of Vice Admiral Keith E. Blount as Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR) in Jul. 2023, on promotion to the rank of Admiral.

Vice Admiral Blount will succeed General Sir Tim Radford, who has held the position since Apr. 3, 2020.

On Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, the UK Ministry of Defence announced the appointment of Vice Admiral Keith E. Blount as Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR) in Jul. 2023, on promotion to the rank of Admiral.

The position of DSACEUR serves as the second in command to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) and concurrently as the deputy head of Allied Command Operations. The role was first held by Field Marshal the Viscount Bernard Law Montgomery, who served as DSACEUR from 1951 until 1958.
