SACEUR welcomes U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO

MONS, Belgium - Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) General Tod D. Wolters welcomed U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO Ambassador Julianne Smith to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe for a routine visit with SHAPE leadership on Monday, Jan 31, 2022.

Ambassador Smith assumed her current role within NATO in November 2021, previously she served as a Senior Advisor to U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken as well as the Director of the Asia and Geopolitics Programs at the U.S. German Marshall Fund.

During the scheduled visit, Ambassador Smith held an introductory office call with SACEUR General Wolters and various members of SHAPE's leadership. She also conducted a walkthrough of the U.S. National Military Representative (NMR) offices before meeting with U.S. NMR Colonel Philip Forbes.
