MONS, Belgium – The SHAPE Partnerships Directorate (PD) hosted their first Partner Coordination Committee Quarterly (PACCQ) meeting on Thursday, Mar. 18, 2021 via video teleconference from Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE).
The meeting was held in order to continue to foster the relationship between SHAPE PD and Partners.
29 participants from 27 countries were able to effectively discuss pertinent updates (e.g. updates from/concerning: Dean PNMR, operations, training and exercises, PD Senior Enlisted Member regarding Defence Education Enhancement Programme, COVID-19) and secure the flow of communications between PD and the Partner community.

SHAPE Chief of Staff (COS), Admiral Joachim Rühle, also attended the PACCQ with his opening remarks, always a very beneficial occasion when the COS and the Partners are able to meet collectively “face-to-face”.
Background:
NATO Allies seek to contribute to the efforts of the international community in projecting stability and strengthening security outside NATO territory. One of the means to do so is through cooperation and partnerships. Over more than 25 years, the Alliance has developed a network of partnerships with non-member countries from the Euro-Atlantic area, the Mediterranean and the Gulf region, and other partners across the globe. NATO pursues dialogue and practical cooperation with these nations on a wide range of political and security-related issues. NATO’s partnerships are beneficial to all involved and contribute to improved security for the broader international community.
