Ukrainian Journalists visit SHAPE

SHAPE, Belgium – A group of Ukrainian journalists visited Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) on Thursday, September 12, 2019.

During the visit the journalists toured the base and received briefings from SHAPE staff covering topics ranging from the history of SHAPE to NATO-Ukraine relations.

“These visits are critical to increasing the awareness of what we do here at SHAPE and we are always pleased to further our links with our Ukrainian friends,” said SHAPE’s Communication Division Director Mr. Mark Laity. “Having our partner nations experience this first-hand helps in the long term to ensure Allied Command Operations remains unified and focused on promoting peace throughout the Euro-Atlantic.”

Prior to their visit to SHAPE, the group spent time at NATO Headquarters in Brussels where they toured the building, which was opened in 2016, and received more politically focused briefings on the organisation.
