DSACEUR and Commander of JFC Naples visit the Balkans
MONS, Belgium - Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Sir James Everard and Commander of Allied Joint Force Command Naples, Admiral James Foggo, completed a visit of the western Balkans on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018.
As a senior NATO leader and as the Operational Commander for the European Union Forces (EUFOR)-led Operation ALTHEA, General Everard expressed the importance of continued EU and NATO cooperation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Kosovo.
"While working together makes us more efficient, it will, more importantly, create better results for the people of the western Balkans," said General Everard.
After their visit to the NATO mission is Kosovo, Admiral Foggo praised the troops there for their commitment to promoting a more stable and secure environment.
"It's reassuring to see the dedication and enthusiasm of all the hard working men and women in KFOR," said Admiral Foggo. "Through their determination I am confident that the NATO mission will continue to maintain peace and stability in the region."
The visit also allowed for both leaders to gain a greater appreciation of well demonstrated coordination efforts of EUFOR and NATO in countering cyber, Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) and terrorist threats, gender and security related aspects as well as information sharing.
