MONS, Belgium - The new Commander of Allied Joint Force Command Naples, Admiral James G. Foggo, visited Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 to take part in a series of meetings.

During his visit, Admiral Foggo met with Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR), General Sir James Everard, as well as SHAPE's Chief of Staff (COS), General Markus Kneip.

"I am pleased with the progress that the team at JFC Naples has made with establishing NATO's Strategic Direction – South Hub and I look forward to working closely with Admiral Foggo in the future," said General Everard.

NATO's southern Hub was decided at the 2016 Warsaw Summit and is designed to improve NATO's awareness and understanding of the challenges and threats emanating from Africa and the Middle East.

"It's great to be back in Europe; it's great to be back at SHAPE," said Admiral Foggo. "I look forward to working with the professionals we have at JFC Naples and up here at Allied Command Operations."

Admiral Foggo assumed command of Allied Joint Force Command Naples on Oct. 20, 2017.  He is a 1981 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and arrived at Naples from the Pentagon where he served as the director of Navy Staff.  He is the 31st commander of the headquarters.
