SACEUR Awards Allied Command Operations Staff

The Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Curtis M. Scaparrotti, presented awards and decorations to members of Allied Command Operations during a brief ceremony at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, Sept. 13, 2016. 

 
The SACEUR presented 6 NATO Meritorious Service Medals and 10 SACEUR Recognition Awards. 
 
"I want to thank you all for your hard work and dedication to the Alliance and our mission, said Scaparotti. These awards do not come easily and you should be proud of your accomplishment and representing your country.”
 
The NATO Meritorious Service Medal was first awarded in 2003 to commend staff whose personal initiative and dedication went beyond their duty to make a difference both to their colleagues, and to NATO as an organisation.
 
The SACEUR Recognition Award was established in order to recognise exceptional service and outstanding individual achievement.  It is the senior Alllied Command Operations (ACO) award honouring personnel serving for NATO within ACO.
